Bugsy Malone is very loosely based on events in Chicago, Illinois in the Prohibition era, specifically, the exploits of gangsters like Al Capone as dramatized in cinema. The show stars "children" as the gangsters and their molls, allowing MUGSS to treat the show in our own inimitable way. The plot concerns the manufacture of a brand of custard, which is used first in cream-topped pies (being hit with one "kills" the character) then later in "splurge guns" that enable the dessert to be deployed on unprecedented level.

Performed in the studio theatre at the RNCM next to campus, this was a highly entertaining show, with the usual array of MUGSS props and a vast amount of splurge.

The show ran from 20th - 24th November 2007. Sadly, due to copyright restrictions, there are no recordings of the show.

MUGSS is open to all, whether you've done anything like this before or not. Join us for our next show.
